The John Stuart Rogers Faculty Development Center is an award winning multipurpose
academic facility located in the heart of the CSU Stanislaus campus. The lodge-style
building, overlooking a campus lake, includes classrooms, faculty offices, a catering
kitchen, a reserve room, and a large patio. Project sustainability features include
recycled plastic “slate” roofing tile, low VOC paint, recycled and recyclable carpets
and backing, stained concrete floors in lieu of supplementary flooring where appropriate,
earth coupling, energy efficiency, high efficiency wood windows and patio doors,
occupancy sensors, and a whole building Energy Management System. Stacey White was
the project manager on the project while with RRM Design Group. The scope of work
included the design, documentation, and administration of a parking lot, the building,
expansion of the campus lake, and the surrounding landscaping.
